Flowers speak a language that reflects the experiences in our lives. It is fun to see people reconnect to their personal history through them. They recall their grandparents, their wedding or when their children were born.
The first formal dance my husband and I went to in high school, he gave me the most beautiful and different corsage I had ever seen – a red camellia. Years later when our daughter was born I had to name her “Camellia.” Even though everyone calls her “Cammy,” I know she’s my Camellia and a lovely memory of my husband. He had me at Camellia.
Seven years ago at my husband’s funeral, a friend brought a Camellia bouquet to his service. She did not know our daughter’s real name or how much I love that flower. She just brought beautiful Camellias from her yard in East Texas. Imagine my delight! Coincidence? No way! This was God’s encouragement to me on a difficult day.
Give flowers – they will do the talking for you.
